Women Behind Bars 女子监狱

Since 2000, female inmates have increased by a whopping 60%, as compared to the 22% rise for male inmates. This series probes into the reasons why women in in the countries of Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Philippines and Italy commit crimes. We also take a look into the challenges faced by the women in these societies and discover how the penitentiary systems approach the incarceration of female inmates and help these women reclaim their futures.
