By Your Side follows families caring for loved ones with rare diseases, special needs, disabilities and the challenges of ageing. Parents of children with West syndrome and Harlequin ichthyosis navigate seizures, intensive treatments and daily care while celebrating every small achievement. Mothers of adult sons with ADHD, autism and intellectual disabilities devote years to helping them gain confidence, skills and independence.

The series also follows families facing ALS and dementia, where spouses and children provide constant care as their loved ones gradually lose their independence. Across generations, these caregivers sacrifice careers, time and personal freedom, yet find strength in love and companionship. Their stories celebrate resilience, acceptance and the preciousness of simply being by someone's side.
