Double Yummy
Double Yummy explores the vibrant and diverse food cultures of Taiwan and Singapore through the eyes and taste buds of two respective hosts – Yasminne Cheng from Singapore and Andrew Chau from Taiwan.
Each episode delves into how common ingredients, namely chicken, beef, fish, crabs, pork and noodles are interpreted, prepared, and enjoyed in each city. By highlighting the unique culinary traditions and the fascinating similarities and differences between the two regions, this program not only serves as a delicious journey for the audience but also offers a glimpse of societal and cultural significance in Singapore and Taiwan. From street food vendors to high-end restaurants, the series showcases how food serves as a bridge between generations, communities, and even countries.
We round off the episode by inviting chefs with culinary accolades from either city to do a reinterpretation of the dish featured in the episode.
