In Alison's Mind

Episodic Information

Diagnosed with early-onset dementia at 59, Alison Lim was given 3 to 8 years to live. She could have simply given up on life. Instead, driven by a sense of urgency and purpose, she becomes a dementia activist. Despite some dark days, in Alison’s mind, anything is possible. Together with her daughter Jamie, she set up a peer support network for persons living with dementia and their caregivers.

Fuelled by a passion to combat the stigma surrounding the disease and to help those afflicted, and their caregivers, Alison embarks on a mission to show them how to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. 9 years on, she has surpassed the timeline doctors gave her and now contemplates if her mission can carry on.

‘In Alison’s Mind’ is a fly-on-the-wall observational documentary tracking Alison’s urgent mission to help others, even as she comes to terms with her own condition.
