No Ordinary Rescue S2

With access to heart-stopping and never-before-seen footage captured during real-life disasters and emergencies, ‘No Ordinary Rescue’ tells the stories of civilians who come to the aid of others, even if it means putting their own lives on the line.

In China, as devastating floods hit, it’s a race against time for volunteers with Blue Sky Rescue to save stranded residents. In Metro Manila, citizens don fire-fighting suits and brave the blaze as they put out massive fires from engulfing homes.

In Vietnam, vigilantes known as ‘Street Knights’ chase after armed criminals on their motorbikes, oftentimes ending up bloodied in the ensuing scuffle. And as night falls in Hong Kong, a group of volunteers hike through treacherous mountain terrain in the hopes of finding a missing person.

Unpaid, and at times underappreciated, what lies behind the motivation of these citizens?

Season 2

No Ordinary Rescue returns with more exhilarating rescue stories of people and wildlife across Asia. About 200,000 children in China are reportedly abducted and trafficked each year. Parents now use social media to find their missing children. Over at Taiwan more mammals are beaching on the coast, while migratory birds passing through China fall prey to hunters. What are ordinary citizens doing to save the wildlife?

Meanwhile, haze from wildfires in Thailand and Indonesia have caused millions to fall ill. A group of youngsters, many of them still schooling, have decided to learn how to firefight and become activists to change the situation.

And with more than 10 million people suffering from Alzheimer’s in China, 500,000 elderly reportedly lose their way each year because of this disease. In a race against time, how are the volunteers finding these missing elderly? The final episode takes place in Taiwan, where rescuers with modified four-wheel-drive vehicles brave extreme terrains to deliver aid during natural disasters.
