Four students from Why Dance Studio—Bree, Izzy, Nana, and Kira—unexpectedly become viral sensations with a dance video they posted online. The studio's founder, Zhou Yingyao (YY), who was once a talent agent, decides to form the first local plus-size girl group and named them Team BB. As the group’s popularity increases, so did the cyber-bullying. Events took a turn for the worse when it was discovered that YY actually bought fans to boost the group’s fame.

As they grabble with the reality of fame, Team BB also has to navigate infighting and the unraveling of secrets and lies among the team members. Rising above adversity, they eventually find their purpose and use their influence to support the marginalised communities, becoming ambassadors against discrimination and online bullying.
