The Heartland Hero 邻里帮

Former loan shark, Mao Ge (Elvin Ng), and his best friend, Zhong Yiyuan (Shane Pow), decide to turn over a new leaf after they are released from prison. They rent half a shop from Mao Ge’s ex-girlfriend, Jingwen (Rui En), and start a second-hand goods store named "Ling Li Bang". The shop becomes popular in the neighbourhood and many customers also start to seek help from Mao Ge for their problems.

Guilty about causing the death of his friend, Mao Ge takes it upon himself to look after his friend's wife and child, Lexi (Vivian Lai) and Jeremy (Benjamin Tan). Soon Lexi starts falling in love with Mao Ge.

Meanwhile, prison officer, Qingtian (Paige Chua), was skeptical about Mao Ge and Yiyuan’s change. However, she decides to join them after seeing their dedication. She takes over Jingwen’s toast shop "Seoul Toast", after resigning from as a prison officer. But Qingtian gets tricked into transferring her toast shop to her brother, Bao Daowang (Bryan Wong). Daowang also plots against Mao Ge and accuses him of money laundering, and "Ling Li Bang" faces the threat of being shut down for good.

Amidst the crisis, Mao Ge, Yiyuan, Lexi and Qingtian have to sort out their complicated relationship. Can they resolve their own issues and at the same time continue to help those in the neighbourhood?
