Xin and Xiaoyue meet at university orientation and are immediately drawn to each other. During a game, Xin is assigned to be Xiaoyue’s “guardian angel”, giving him the perfect excuse to quietly care for her. He plans to confess his feelings through a note promising to be her guardian angel forever, but the message is never delivered.
Years later, Xiaoyue is a successful jewellery designer who moves into a new condominium, only to discover that it has also been leased to Feng, a charming playboy. Neither is willing to move out, until the mysterious Yan appears and persuades them to live together as flatmates.
As Xiaoyue and Feng constantly clash, Yan has an uncanny habit of appearing at just the right moment to bring them closer. Under his subtle guidance, their bickering gradually blossoms into love. Yet Xiaoyue also feels strangely drawn to Yan, whose care and concern stir memories she cannot quite place.
When Yan suddenly disappears, Xiaoyue discovers an old note among his belongings: “I will be your guardian angel forever.” She finally realises the truth about Yan and the first love she never knew she had.
