Fact Vs Fiction

Sophisticated networks of disinformation are eroding trust and tearing societies apart – widening existing religious, political, and social differences across Asia and the world. In this series, we will investigate how low digital literacy, political and religious biases, along with lapses in functionality of social media platforms have turned India into a hub for fake news - negatively impacting democratic institutions like the press and the election process. We will also investigate why climate change denialism is spreading through fake news across the Philippines, often backed by fossil fuel companies, jeopardizing climate action and weakening public demand for mitigation and adaptation measures.
