The Home Song Stories 意

Based on the real life story of acclaimed Australian Director/Writer Tony Ayres’ turbulent childhood, it begins with nightclub singer Rose Hong migrating from Hong Kong to Melbourne with her children after marrying Bill, a sailor. But life is not at all rosy, and Rose has an affair with a young man and eventually moves in with him, children in tow. But the relationship breaks down, and Rose finds herself back in Bill’s household. Rose’s mental state starts to deteriorate and it destroys her relationship with her children. With her dreams shuttered and nothing but apathy from her only son, she contemplates moving back to her homeland Hong Kong, but all may be too late for the vivacious Rose…
