Ying Jun (Gavin Teo) who was born deaf and lost his father in an accident, while his mother abandoned him as a child. His grandmother, Jun Hong (Liu Ling Ling), took on the role of raising him, working as a waitress selling beer.

Chef John (Cavin Soh), a close lifelong friend of Jun Yong and who harbors romantic feelings for her, hires Ying Jun to work in a restaurant and mentors him. Chef John is interested in Jun Hong romantically. However, when Ying Jun falls in love with the Chef John's daughter, An Xin (Kiki Lim), Chef John is strongly opposed to it.

Yao Fei (Ayden Sng) rises to the hopes and dreams of his parents, becoming a successful medical specialist with a loving girlfriend, Zi Yang (Sheryl Ang). But behind the facade is a man suffering from depression, and his condition takes a turn for the worse after Zi Yang leaves him when she is unable to handle his breakdowns.
